Vietnam, Malaysia solidify security connections

(VOVworld) - Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam and Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs Ahmad Zahid Hamidi agreed to strengthen anti-crime cooperation during talks in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.

Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also a Deputy Prime Minister, expressed his delight at the strides seen in the Southeast Asian nations’ strategic partnership, and in the two ministries’ relations. Echoing the view, Minister To Lam highlighted the development of bilateral cooperation in all spheres, especially since the two governments issued a joint statement on the strategic partnership framework – a new momentum for all-round cooperation with politics and security among the pillars. 

The two sides agreed to continue effectively implementing the commitments and agreements reached, while enhancing information exchanges and fighting crime, especially terrorism, human trafficking and hi-tech crime. 

Prior to the talks, Minister To Lam visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia.
