Vietnam marks International Day for the Elderly

(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam told a ceremony in Hanoi on Thursday that the government has a national program of actions for the elderly and October has been observed as the Month for the Elderly.

He called for more social participation in the care for senior citizens: “Social welfare policies for the elderly should be improved to open up more public services for elderly access. More investment should be done in health clinics to care for the elderly while diverse social and entertainment services must be provided for them”
