Vietnam, Norway step up judicial cooperation

(VOVworld) - A Vietnamese delegation led by Nguyen Dinh Quyen, Deputy Chairman of the Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly, visited Norway from April 18-22 to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ legislatures.

During his visit, Quyen attended working sessions in Oslo with representatives from the Norwegian Parliament, the Supreme Court of Norway, the Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs of the Norwegian Parliament, the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and Public Security and the Norwegian Association of Lawyers.

While briefing his hosts on Vietnam’s efforts in building a legal system, in protecting human rights, and in judicial activities, Quyen said he hopes for enhanced cooperation between the two legislative bodies and multifaceted links between the two nations. First Vice - President of the Norwegian Parliament Marit Nybakk said there is great potential for Norway and Vietnam to expand cooperation and said she hopes their cooperation will continue to grow.
