Mr. Cuong on Sunday made an inspection tour of hi-tech fish farming areas in the southern delta province of An Giang. He applauded businesses for applying high technology in Tra fish breeding and production to raise the value of Vietnamese fish. Minister Cuong urged businesses to protect the environment and continue to experiment modern farm models.

In addition to the domestic market, Vietnam is targeting 2.4 billion USD from tra fish exports this year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Vietnam’s tra fish exports brought back a record of 2.26 billion USD last year, an increase of more than 26% compared to a year earlier.
