Vietnam prioritizes development of clean energy

(VOVworld) – Vietnam will give priority to the development of clean energy. At Wednesday’s reception in Hanoi for Lisa Davis, a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung said that to achieve its sustainable growth target, Vietnam needs good infrastructure and a solid energy industry.

Mr. Dung said the Vietnamese government is continuing the construction and completion of the national infrastructure, which means leading industrial groups like Siemens will have more opportunities to expand cooperation and investment in Vietnam. Mr. Dung welcomed Siemens’ introduction to Vietnam of advanced technologies for clean energy and renewable energy.

Ms. Davis praised the support of the Vietnamese government, ministries, and sectors for Siemens, particularly the government’s efforts to improve the investment and business environment.

She pledged that Siemens will give Vietnam more support in training, development of qualified human resources, and use of safe technology and said Siemens wants to expand its investment in transportation infrastructure and oil and gas exploration and processing.
