Vietnam Private Entrepreneurs’ Association holds 2nd Congress

(VOVWORLD) - The 2nd Congress of the Vietnam Private Entrepreneurs’ Association opened in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Nguyen Van Binh, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, acknowledged the association’s contributions to national development: “The private sector has maintained a relatively high growth rate, having accounted for 40% of the national GDP, created 85% of the jobs in Vietnam, and further contributed to Vietnam’s efforts to build a self-reliant economy. The development of the private sector has proudly contributed to national construction and defense. They boast more than 96% of small, medium, and micro private enterprises. The Association needs to help its members increase their productivity,  and uphold corporate culture and governance.”

During its next tenure until 2023, the Association aims to reform its activities to increase links between members, helping them to improve their competitiveness, access new technology and participate in global value chains.
