Addressing the opening ceremony on Tuesday, Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Administration of Tourism, said Vietnam and Cambodia have signed many cooperative agreements in tourism, including a 1995 cooperation agreement and a 1995 memorandum of understanding.

Cambodian Minister of Tourism Thong Khon said his government is implementing several projects to enhance links with tourist destinations in Vietnam and Thailand.

By the end of this year Cambodia will begin to build Kampot port bordering Vietnam’s Kien Giang province, which should increase tourism to Phu Quoc Island and southern provinces of Vietnam.
