The event introduced Indonesian travel companies and people to great tourist attractions in Vietnam such as Sapa, Golden Bridge in Da Nang or sand dunes of Mui Ne. Participants suggested Vietnam open more direct flights from Jakarta to these destinations.  Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said: “Indonesia is one of the most important market in the ASEAN region. More and more Indonesian choose Vietnam as a destination. In the first 4 months of this year, we already had 36,500 Indonesian tourists, 30 percent increase compared to the same period last year. With the increase of connectivity by airlines to facilitate convenience to travel between the two countries, we expect the growth rate of tourism from Indonesia to Vietnam will be higher in the future”.

Mr. Mario Falcao, Sale Manager of Indonesia Aviation Services company, said: “Many Vietnamese prefer to visit Bali of Indonesia. Meanwhile, we develop Bali as a gateway for Indonesian tourists to come to Vietnam”.

In 2018, nearly 88,000 Indonesians visited Vietnam, up 8.5 percent year-on-year.
