Vietnam raises initiatives to UNHRC’s discussions

(VOVworld) – On the sideline of the 32nd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, the Vietnamese delegation attended a forum introducing a report on the impacts of climate change on medical rights.

Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh, Head of Vietnam’s Permanent Representative to the UN, the WTO, and other organizations, said Vietnam is facing multidimensional impacts of climate change.
Vietnam suggested countries to combine measures to protect community health, the right to food, housing, education, and other social programs and national policies on climate change, with focus on gender equality and the rights of disadvantaged people.
Mr. Thanh reiterated Vietnam’s commitments to work with countries to address the impacts of climate change to human rights.
