Colonel Hoang Kim Phung told a UN fact-finding delegation in Hanoi on Monday that participating in peacekeeping activities provides further evidence that Vietnam is a responsible member of the international community.

“We have prepared personnel for the field hospital and the sapper unit. They are to be trained over 9 months in order to successfully accomplish their duties,” Phung elaborated.

The UN delegation is in Vietnam to review preparations for peacekeeping programs including personnel qualifications and equipment.
