Vietnam ready for Vesak Day 2019

(VOVWORLD) - The United Nations (UN) Day of Vesak 2019 is scheduled to take place in Tam Chuc pagoda in the northern province of Ha Nam in May.

The International Council for the Day of Vesak and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha met on Friday to discuss preparations for the event including the list of foreign guests and logistics works. Themed “Buddhist Approach to Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Sustainable Societies", the event is expected to attract 1,500 religious dignitaries, researchers, scientists, and managers worldwide, and about 10,000 Buddhist followers and people. Vietnam hosted UN Vesak Day in 2008 and 2014.
