Vietnam ready to link ASEAN Economic Community and China

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh paid a 3-day visit to China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and attended the 14th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) this week.

On this occasion, Mr. Binh granted interviews to some major newspapers of China, including Xinhua news agency, China News, the People’s Daily, the Guangxi Daily, and CAEXPO Magazine.

He said the expo and the summit helped boost their strategic partnership between China and ASEAN.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Binh, as an active member of the ASEAN Community, Vietnam treasures and supports cooperation with China and is ready to link the ASEAN Economic Community and China and work with other ASEAN members to strengthen cooperation in all fields, preserve peace and stability, and ensure economic and trade activities run smoothly.

Mr. Binh said it is Vietnam’s policy to create the best possible conditions for businesses from ASEAN and China to expand investment in Vietnam to boost the interests of all parties.

He said Vietnam’s regular participation in China-ASEAN Expos demonstrates the desire of Vietnamese government, localities, and businesses to enhance comprehensive cooperation with China and its localities.

The Vietnamese Party, State, and government attach importance to cooperation with Chinese localities, particularly Guangxi, Mr. Binh said.

He called on Guangxi and Vietnamese localities to balance economic and trade cooperation, facilitate customs clearance activities, share land border management, and step up crime prevention.
