Vietnam ready to share reform experience with DPRK: PM

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has reiterated Vietnam’s willingness to share with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) its reform experience, especially in the expansion of external economic ties, investment attraction and tourism development.

Mr. Phuc made the statement during a meeting in Hanoi on Saturday for DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho. The PM said Vietnam treasures and wants to consolidate the traditional friendship with DPRK. He affirmed the Vietnamese Government and people’s readiness to conduct exchanges and cooperate with the DPRK Government and people in the interests of both peoples, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world. He discussed with Mr. Ri the Doi Moi (Reform) policy of Vietnam and measures to carry out the policy under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam over the past more than three decades.

The Vietnamese government leader hailed the positive developments on the Korean Peninsula, particularly the outcomes of summits between the DPRK and the US and the Republic of Korea (RoK) in the recent past. PM Phuc emphasized that Vietnam is ready to make active contributions to the dialogue process between the DPRK and related parties.

For his part, FM Ri affirmed the consistent stance of the Party and Government of the DPRK on continuing to consolidate and develop the traditional friendship with Vietnam, which is a valuable asset fostered by President Kim Il-sung and President Ho Chi Minh.
