Mr. Vuong said that since Vietnam joined the convention, the Ministry has coordinated with sectors and localities to develop a report on measures to fulfil the membership obligations. The report summarizes Vietnam’s efforts and results in preventing and punishing acts of torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment.

Vietnam is one of six members of the Convention to present a report to the UN Committee Against Torture during its 65th session, which will end on December 7.
