Vietnam respects friendly relationship, mutual benefit with Iran

She spoke of the friendly relations to Speaker of Iran’s Parliament Ali Ardeshir Larijani at a meeting on Monday on the sideline of the 140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Doha, Qatar. Ms. Ngan suggested both sides implement measures to raise bilateral trade revenue to 2 billion USD. She told Mr. Larijani that Vietnam expects to soon receive Iran’s diplomatic note supporting Vietnam to be a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 term as agreed by their high-ranking leaders.

Mr. Larijani proposed an increase of Vietnamese fruit and aquaculture exports to Iran and further cooperation in high-yield rice cultivation, education, customs, and banking. He will assign a senior assistant to be in charge of scholars for Vietnamese students and inform Vietnam of the matter soon. Upon his return to Iran, he will speak with the Minister of Culture as to organizing an Iranian Cultural Day in Vietnam.
