Vietnam, RoK to augment cooperation in ensuring security

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam treasures its strategic cooperative partnership with the Republic of Korea (RoK) and hopes the RoK will continue sharing experience and promoting substantive cooperation in all fields, said Minister of Public Security To Lam on Monday.

During his meeting with RoK Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon in Seoul, Mr. Lam asked RoK Government leaders to facilitate collaboration between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies.

PM Lee said he hopes the two sides will continue to cooperate in fighting transnational crime, drugs, and terrorism; work together to ensure the security, safety, rights, and legitimate interests of Vietnamese in Korea and Koreans in Vietnam, and improve the staff of Vietnam’s law enforcement bodies.

The same day, Minister Lam and Korean National Police Agency Commissioner General Min Gap-ryong discussed ways to increase collaboration in fighting drug trafficking, sharing experience, exchanging delegations, and training personnel. They agreed on further cooperation in investigating hi-tech crimes; training officers to combat hi-tech crimes, illegal drugs and human trafficking, and ensuring the security and safety of each other’s citizens.
