Vietnam shares experience in green agriculture at ECOSOC forum

(VOVWORLD) - Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of Vietnam’s permanent mission to the UN, presented Vietnam’s policies to promote green agriculture at a sideline event of the High-level Political Forum of the UN Economic and Social Council on Wednesday.

Ambassador Quy highlighted Vietnam’s achievements in agriculture and challenges in ensuring sustainable development, including low productivity and environmental impacts due to the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. He underlined the importance of concrete initiatives to bring policies to life, including the application of VietGAP to increase productivity, mitigate environmental impacts, and raise farmers’ incomes.

Participants shared their countries’ solutions to promote a green economy and sustainable production and consumption models that benefit people and minimize environmental impacts.
