Vietnam, Singapore boost defense cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and Chan Yeng Kit, Permanent Secretary of the Singaporean Ministry of Defense, co-chaired the 9th Vietnam-Singapore Deputy Minister-Level Defense Policy Dialogue in Singapore on Monday.

The two sides shared their views on regional and global issues such as defense and security challenges, confrontations between major powers, the East Sea, and new non-traditional security challenges. They agreed that ASEAN must maintain solidarity and play a central role in regional security while promoting the responsibilities of partner countries.
The two noted with pleasure the strongly developing ties between their defense ministries and armies, in particular delegation exchanges and training and information sharing.
Earlier, Minister Vinh paid a courtesy visit to Singaporean Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen.
