Vietnam, Slovakia strengthen economic cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - The second session of the Vietnamese–Slovakian intergovernmental committee on economic cooperation took place in Bratislava on Tuesday to discuss ways to boost bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, and investment.

Both sides agreed that cooperation outcomes over the years have been modest, well below their potential and hopes.

To end the session, Vietnam and Slovakia signed an MoU and agreed that the next session will be held in Hanoi in 2019.

Businesses of Vietnam and Slovakia discuss cooperation opportunities

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong said that the two countries will have more opportunities to enhance cooperation.

“The highlight of bilateral cooperation is energy, an area which Slovakian businesses are strong in and Vietnam needs to develop sustainably,”  added Vuong.

As part of the meeting, a Vietnam-Slovakia business forum was organized, involving representatives of 70 companies.
