Vietnam, South Africa agree to strengthen communications relations

(VOVworld) – Vietnam and South Africa have discussed ways to step up cooperation in communication and maintain regular dialogue to share information.

An agreement to this effect was reached at a meeting in Pretoria, on Friday between Vietnamese Information and Communications Minister Nguyen Bac Son and South African Communications Minister Faith Muthambi.

The two officials briefed each other on the situation of each nation and agreed to exchange experience in state management and cooperation in radio and television broadcasting and on-line newspapers.

They called for further coordination and mutual support at international forums and increased training programs for communicators and journalists.

Minister Son and his delegation met representatives of South African enterprises in the telecommunications and financial sectors and had a working session with the Vietnamese Embassy.
