Vietnam State Audit Office contributes to ASOSAI

(VOVWORLD) -The 14th Assembly of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) closed in Hanoi on Saturday after 4 days of intense work.

At a press conference at the end of the meeting, ASOSAI Secretary General Choe Jaehyeong described the adopting the Hanoi Declaration the biggest success. The Vietnam State Audit Office as the host of the 14th ASOSAI made it a success, contributing to elevating Vietnam’s profile worldwide.

Mr. Choe, who is also Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection of the Republic of Korea, said the Vietnam State Audit Office as the new Chair of ASOSAI should take the lead in boosting cooperation between members of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) so as to achieve the goals of the Hanoi Declaration and the UN sustainable development goals, while strengthening transparency of each ASOSAI member.

Ms. Hu Zejun, Auditor General of China, who is ASOSAI Secretary General for the next 3-year term, outlined future tasks: “ASOSAI is playing a bigger role in the region with its strategic development orientations. At this Assembly, we approved the Hanoi declaration and many other important documents to boost the development of ASOSAI and coordination among SAI members. We will continue to work with and support SAI members to build a firm foundation for the growth of each SAI member and the ASOSAI community in general. We will learn from each other to make progress towards sustainable development goals and the development of each member country.”

Ms. Madinad Binti Mohamad, Auditor General of Malaysia and former Chair of ASOSAI said Vietnam as the Chair of ASOSAI from 2018 to 2021 will implement well its leading role to help the organization concretize its growth orientations and propose ideas and measures to build a stronger ASOSAI.
