Vietnam, Sudan strive to tap cooperation potential

(VOVWORLD) - President Tran Dai Quang has highlighted Vietnam and Sudan’s potential to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, seafood, oil and gas, and telecommunications.

At a meeting with outgoing Sudanese Ambassador to Vietnam Sayed Ahmed Altayed, President Tran Dai Quang hailed the Ambassador's contributions to strengthening friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Sudan. He said he hopes Sudan will continue supporting Vietnam’s bid to become a member of the UN Security Council in the 2020 – 2021 term and its candidate for the post of General Director of UNESCO in the 2017 – 2021 term.

Ambassador Sayed Ahmed Altayed said Sudan is willing to become the gateway for Vietnam’s products to enter the African market. He added Sudan will continue to strengthen trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
