Vietnam summer camp 2016 ends

(VOVworld) - On Saturday, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs  and Da nang city joint held a closing ceremony of this year’s Vietnam summer camp called ‘Young Vietnamese expats meet national cultural heritages”.

Vu Hong Nam, Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the committee, said the program is organized for young overseas Vietnamese from around the world to learn  about scenic spots and cultural heritages from which they will understand more the land and people of their country of origin and their responsibility in promoting Vietnam’s history, culture, and traditions to the world.

110 youths from 24 countries and territories participated in the camp from July 10 – July 23. The youngsters visited sites recognized by UNESCO as world cultural heritages in Hanoi, Quang Ninh,  Quang Tri, Thua Thien – Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Da Nang. They also visited the Kim Lien relic complex and the villages of President Ho Chi Minh’s father and mother in Nghe An. The annual summer camp has become popular among young Vietnamese all over the world.
