At the meeting, both sides spoke highly of the significance of the JWG, saying that political and security cooperation has played an important role in maintaining and developing the traditional friendship as well as promoting the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership. They agreed to boost cooperation in responding to non-traditional security challenges such as climate change, energy insecurity, food insecurity, water insecurity, natural disasters, and epidemics. They agreed to work closely to ensure security and safety in their country for diplomatic representative offices, foreign enterprises, and foreign citizens.

Mr. Rugsanaoh said he hopes the two sides will strengthen their cooperation in dealing with non-traditional security challenges.
