Vietnam, Thailand strengthen defense ties

During the reception, Mr. Trong reiterated Vietnam’s constant policy of respecting and strengthening multifaceted cooperation and friendship with Thailand. He thanked the Thai government and people for their support to Vietnam’s national defense and construction and expected more bilateral cooperation between the two countries and armies. Mr. Wongsuwan pledged close cooperation with Vietnam in peacekeeping, regional stability and cooperation.

 Earlier during talk between the Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister and Vietnam’s Minister of Defense Ngo Xuan Lich, both agreed to maintain and promote current cooperative mechanism, exchanges of high-level visits and military officers, language training as well as cooperation in multilateral forums for peace, stability and development. The Thai official is on a two-day official visit to Vietnam.
