Vietnam to boost exports and assure domestic food supplies

(VOVworld) - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam on Tuesday urged greater exports of agro-forestry-aquaculture products and assured sufficient food supplies for the remainder of this year and on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2017.

The ministry’s statistics show that in October exports of agro-forestry-aquaculture products reached 2.7 billion USD. Export turnover in the first ten months of this year totaled approximately 26.5 billion USD, up 6.3 per cent since last year. Exports to China accounted for 20 per cent of total revenues, with the main commodities being rubber, cassava, and fresh vegetables.
