Vietnam urges ASEAN nations to boost international integration
(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son on Thursday called on ASEAN members to continue giving priority to boosting economic integration through bilateral and regional free trade agreements.

Speaking at the OECD Southeast Asia Regional Program (SEARP) Ministerial Conference in Tokyo, Mr. Son urged ASEAN countries to improve the investment environment and digital connection, upgrade human resources quality, and take advantage of the 4th industrial revolution. He also asked ASEAN countries to enhance their cooperation to mitigate challenges facing skilled laborers shifting within the bloc, promote gender equality and women’s advancement by facilitating their access to education, training, employment, and social resources.
The conference discussed policy challenges and opportunities arising from Southeast Asia’s economic integration and inclusive sustainable development.
