Vietnam urges for restoring Palestinian administration role in Gaza

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam condemns any violent act targeting civilians and shares concerns about the excessive use of violence, Israel’s expansion of settlements, and rocket firing from Gaza to civilian areas, said Deputy Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN Pham Hai Anh.

At the UN Security Council quarterly open debate on “The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question” on Monday, Anh voiced Vietnam’s grave concerns about the recent adverse developments in the Middle East, especially deadly clashes and severe humanitarian crisis on the Gaza Strip.

He said Vietnam calls on all parties to restrain and avoid provocative actions that could escalate tensions and asks the Israeli and Palestinian governments to take prompt action to ease humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The diplomat underlined the need to remove Israeli blockade and restore Palestinian administration management role.

He reiterated that the two-state solution is vital for resolving the conflicts and called on the international community to urge parties to push for peaceful negotiations to achieve a fair, comprehensive, and sustainable solution in accordance with the wishes of Israeli and Palestinian people.
