Vietnam, Uruguay strengthen relations

(VOVworld) - Vietnam’s Ambassador to Argentina and Uruguay Nguyen Dinh Thao said he will do his utmost to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Uruguay.

Thao sent greetings from Vietnam’s Party and state leaders to Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez, who took office in March, while attending the President’s meeting with foreign ambassadors on Tuesday in Montevideo. President Vazquez hailed the ambassadors’ roles in enhancing cooperative relations between their countries and Uruguay. He voiced his hope that the ambassadors will continue to contribute to strengthening trade and investment exchanges between Uruguay and other countries, which have made Uruguay the trans-shipment center of the region.

Also on Tuesday, Ambassador Thao met with Monica Xavier, Head of the Chambers of Senators’ External Commission and President of the leftist coalition Frente Amplio. Xavier pledged to help boost the relations between Vietnam and Uruguay.
