Mr. Minh stressed that the two countries should continue delegation exchanges and dialogue to intensify bilateral relations while narrowing differences for the interests of both peoples, and for peace, stability, and development in the region. Sharing Mr. Minh’s view, Blinken urged both sides to promptly finalize TPP negotiations, boost cooperation in trade, investment, science and technology, environment, and security and defense. The two officials also exchanged views on regional and international issues, including the East Sea. They reached consensus that all disputes in the East Sea should be resolved by peaceful means in line with international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
