Vietnam values ties with neighboring countries

(VOVworld) – On Wednesday, President Truong Tan Sang received Lao Vice President Bounnhang Vorachith and Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An, who led delegations to join Vietnam’s celebrations of the 70th National Day and August Revolution.

At the meeting with the Lao Vice President, President Sang expressed the deep gratitude of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to the Lao Party, State and people for their whole-hearted support over the years. The two leaders said they are pleased with the development of the Vietnam-Laos relationship and cooperation on all fronts. They agreed to push ahead with negotiations to sign a protocol on the Vietnam-Laos border lines and national markers and an agreement on the bilateral border gates management regulations before the end of the year.

Meeting with the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, President Sang highlighted the long traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia as well as the joint efforts of the two people in their struggle for independence and freedom. The two sides agreed that the two countries should further strengthen their solidarity and mutual cooperation and support to deserve the sacrifice of generations of Vietnamese and Cambodian people as well as to meet the aspiration of both peoples, thus contributing to peace, stability and development.
