(VOVWORLD) - The 6th National Congress of the Vietnam War Veterans’ Association (VWVA) concluded in Hanoi on Friday and featured the debut of its 98-member Central Committee for the next 5-year tenure.
The Central Committee’s standing board comprises of 22 members. Former Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duoc was re-elected as the Association’s Chairman.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Mr. Duoc said the congress’ success provides a great source of encouragement for all members nationwide. He said the congress’ documents are important for the Association’s future development.
