(VOVworld)-President Tran Dai Quang has stressed the urgency of enviromental protection, saying that Vietnam will never exchange the environment for anything at any cost. President Quang told Singapore’s Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Masagos Zulkifli in Hanoi on Monday that Vietnam’s socio-economic aims will move toward sustainable development with priority given to environmental protection.

He said Vietnam wants to learn from Singapore’s experience in green development and water resource management. Mr. Quang reiterated that Vietnam always regards Singapore as a  strategic partner. Minister Zulkifli said that Vietnam has become an attractive destination for foreign investors and tourists. He also noted that environmental pollution in one country can affect its neighbors and the world as a whole.
