Mr. Dung said environmental protection is a pressing global issue and a long-term process that requires global cooperation and determination. Vietnam aims at green and environment-friendly growth, involving both scientists and the private sector, Dung said. He called for UN assistance for Vietnam in climate change response, forest protection, and green house emissions reduction.

Mr. Solheim said the UN Environment Program will continue to accompany all nations, including Vietnam, in environmental protection.
