Vietnam had exported over 4.7 million tons of rice as of September, worth nearly 2.4 billion USD. In 2017, Vietnam was the world’s third largest rice exporter. At the 10th World Rice Conference held in Hanoi on Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said: “This is the first time Vietnam has held an international conference on rice. The event is a great opportunity for Vietnam to boast of its improvement in rice quality and variety. Vietnam can learn from its partners about rice production and export, and improve its own brand.”
