At a banquet to welcome Argentine President Mauricio Macri and his spouse Wednesday night, Mr. Trong said cooperation between Vietnam and Argentina has been strengthened since the two countries established diplomatic ties in October 1973. He said: “Progress over the past 45 years has been significant for both peoples. We have developed a comprehensive partnership and built solid ties in international organizations and multilateral forums. Our two-way trade turnover reached 2.9 billion USD dollars last year, double that of 2013. Cooperative projects in biological products’ production, demography, and agriculture within South-South and trilateral cooperative frameworks have been effective."

Mr. Macri said Vietnam is Argentina’s second largest trade partner in Asia and he hopes for even more cooperation between the two countries in the near future.
