Vietnamese abroad celebrate Vesak Day

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Buddhists in Vientiane, Laos, hosted a ceremony on Tuesday to mark the 2562nd birth anniversary of Lord Buddha.

Superior Monk Thich Minh Quang of Phat Tich pagoda called on Buddhists and Vietnamese people in Vientiane to promote unity, follow local laws, and participate in activities held by Phat Tich pagoda to uphold Vietnam’s traditions. Participants observed the Ablution ceremony and prayed for national peace and prosperity.

A ceremony to celebrate Vesak Day was held on Tuesday in Buddha Vihara pagoda in India by Vietnamese Buddhists and the Vietnamese Embassy in India.

The Vietnamese Buddhists Association in the Czech Republic on Sunday organized a Vesak Day celebration for 500 Buddhists, Vietnamese Embassy officials, and Vietnamese people living in the Czech Republic.
