The awardees are Nguyen Thanh Huyen, former Deputy Head of the International Relations Department, Ministry of Education and Training, and Professor Nguyen Huu Duc, Vice President of Vietnam National University’s Hanoi branch. Ms Huyen has collaborated for years with the French Embassy in promoting education co-operation and French-language development. Mr Duc is a nano materials researcher, a key area of co-operation between Vietnam and France. He has shared research with French scientists and chaired a number of bilateral education programs. Initiated by Napoleon I in 1808, the Order of Academic Palms honours individuals who make significant contributions to French cultural heritage, science, and arts.
