At the reception, Major General Cui Lianjie, head of the Chinese delegation, informed Vinh of the outcomes of a working session with Vietnam’s Institute for Defense Strategy which approved the first draft of a joint research project to document the friendship between the armies of Vietnam and China and the solidarity of thought between Ho Chi Minh and Mao Zedong during Vietnam’s resistance wars against France and the US.

General Cui said the project is practical and contributes to the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China. He urged both sides to complete the project by the 70th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (January 18, 2020).
