The Vietnamese Ambassador to France and Mayor of Neuilly Sur Seine confirmed that bilateral relations have progressed rapidly and there are great opportunities for military economic cooperation. Major-General Tran Trung Tin, Director of the Economics Department of the Defence Ministry, says: "This is the first time Vietnamese defense businesses have come to France, which is part of the national trade promotion program. We want to expand our market and seek investment partners. Our delegation consists of representatives from the construction, mechanics, chemicals, garments, and textiles and vocational training sectors. French businesses have shown an interest in Vietnamese defense businesses."

Alain Bui, a representative of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said there are numerous cooperative opportunities. "France has advanced technology for air and marine defense which Vietnam can use. In order to successfully cooperate, both sides should thoroughly understand its own needs and the other’s advantages. Vietnam should identify what technology they need that French businesses can supply.”
