Demonstrators sent a letter to the Chinese Consulate, demanding that China honor international law, maintain security and maritime freedom in the East Sea, and respect Vietnam’s undisputted sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos. The letter denounced China’s recent island building and militarization in the area.
