Vietnamese intellectuals in France boost national integration, development

(VOVworld) – 40,000 Vietnamese intellectuals in France have promised greater efforts to boost Vietnam’s integration and development.

At a recent meeting in France, Vietnamese Ambassador Duong Chi Dung praised their enthusiasm and ability and urged them to get more involved in developing Vietnam’s science and technology. Dung said: “Vietnam’s integration strategy focuses not only on the economy but also on politics, defense, culture, science, and technology. We hope that scientists and researchers who have been trained in France will continue their contributions to Vietnam’s development with greater attention to current strategic issues, particularly the current sovereignty challenge. Unless we develop sustainably, it will be hard to face those challenges.”

Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Lyon Vu Xuan Hong proposed a “digital” university - online learning programs for Vietnamese students. The model has achieved moderate success in France and other nations in Europe and America.

Since 2013 overseas Vietnamese in France have launched several projects in Vietnam such as the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon city and the Viet Nam Center of Research in Economics, Management and Environment (VCREME).
