Vietnamese winners at 24th International Olympiad in Informatics

(VOV) – The Vietnamese team that entered the 24th International Olympiad in Informatics has returned to Vietnam after a successful competition.

The 24th International Olympiad in Informatics took place from September 22 – 30, with 310 competitors from countries around the world. All four members of the Vietnamese team won medals at the event. Nguyen Viet Dung and Vu Dinh Quang from Hanoi and Nguyen Tuan Anh from Hai Phong city each bagged a silver medal, while Nguyen Huu Thanh from Da Nang city took home a bronze. Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Vinh Hien said: "We’re very happy as every member of the team won a medal this time. This is due to the great efforts made by the  competitors themselves, and of their families and schools. They have brought pride to the Vietnamese nation".

Those who won silver will receive 17 million VND and the bronze medal winners will be provided with 12 million VND from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Viettel Military Telecom group.
