Vietnamese-themed stamps released in France

(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Embassy and France’s La Poste issued a set of stamps in Paris Thursday featuring Vietnam’s architectural heritage and landscapes.

The 3 stamps with images of French-style architectural buildings represent 3 regions in Vietnam. They are the Hanoi Opera House on a yellow background, the Truong Tien bridge spanning the Huong or Perfume River in the central city of Hue on a purple background, and the Nha Rong Wharf in Ho Chi Minh City on a red background. They are printed in both French and Vietnamese.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son, the stamp release comes with Vietnam celebrating several big events including the 40th anniversary of National Reunification Day and the 70th anniversary of National Day. Ambassador Son said the stamps demonstrate a shared history between the two nations, adding that they help strengthen cultural exchange and mutual understanding. He said: “The new stamp collection embodies artistic and historical values. It has proven the fine relationship between Vietnam and France over the past decade.”
