Vietnam-RoK cooperation spotlighted at Korea-Mekong Peace Forum

(VOVWORLD) - Scientists, experts and policymakers from the Republic of Korea and the five Mekong nations gathered in Hanoi on Thursday to discuss cooperation as well as peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula.

In his opening remarks, Pham Hong Thai, head of the Institute for Northeast Asian Studies, said that the 2018 Korea - Mekong Peace forum was a continuation of the achievements of the two previous events and expanded the scope of discussion to connect the participation of delegates from the Mekong sub-region.

Delegates highlighted Vietnam’s role in the Republic of Korea’s cooperation policy in the region.

Kim Jeong In, Chairman of the RoK’s National Unification Advisory Council, said  regional countries want to learn from Vietnam’s experience in national unification, national solidarity, and growth.
