Do Kim Lang, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said the Vietnamese businesses should invest in improving agricultural products’ quality in order to secure their foothold in the South Korean market. Vietnam’s main exports to South Korea include seafood, vegetables, and fruits like coconut, pineapple, dragon fruit, mango, and banana. Mr. Lang said the Department has sent businesses to South Korea for trade exchanges and exhibitions to seek potential partners.

He said South Korea is one of Vietnam’s key strategic partners and top investor, adding South Korea has become Vietnam’s third biggest trade partner since the implementation of Vietnam-Korea Free Trade Agreement in 2015.

South Korea spends 33 billion USD annually on importing seafood and agricultural products from other countries.
