The send-off ceremony for athletes with disability for Paralympics in Brazil

(VOVworld) – A send-off ceremony was held in Ho Chi Minh City for athletes with disability to depart for the Paralympics 2016 in Brazil. The Vietnamese delegation has 22 people, including 11 athletes to compete in swimming, weightlifting, and track and field.

At the ceremony Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien spoke highly of the athletes’ effort in training for the games and encouraged them to compete and win: “We definitely can make a miracle at this year’s Paralympics as other athletes had done at the just concluded Olympics. We hope you will overcome yourself and do your best for national pride.”
