The workshop was organized by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE) with the aim of seeking appropriate directions for the development for this education model. Doctor of Education Sciences, Nguyen Thuy Phuong, is a lecturer at Paris University No.7: "We chose educational autonomy as our roundtable discussion theme as this is currently a pressing issue in Vietnam. France has implemented this model since 2007, while Vietnam just began in 2012. Although each country has its own ways to deal with the issue, we’d like to explore France’s experience in this field to help Vietnam find the most appropriate way for itself."
