(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam’s oil and gas operations take place in waters under Vietnam’s national sovereignty and jurisdiction.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang told the press on Friday that the operations comply with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. Vietnam asks relevant parties to respect Vietnam’s legitimate rights and interests while positively and practically contributing to peace and cooperation in the East Sea.
