Vietnam’s position in strategic vision by late Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew

(VOVworld) – Vietnam is a special partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Speaking to Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Singapore about Vietnam’s position in strategic vision by late Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, Alan Chong, Associate Professor at the S.Rajaratnam School of International Studies, said after the Cold War, Singapore wanted to establish a special relationship with Vietnam. Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew attached great importance to developing ties with Vietnam.

Associate Professor Vu Minh Khuong from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy said for Singapore especially under Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew’s period, Vietnam is a significant country. Mr. Lee Kuan Yew said Vietnam is not only a unyielding but also a powerful country in protecting its independence and national sovereignty.
